Hey, guys! Every year my husband and I travel to Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida for Halloween Horror Nights. We have made it a tradition to spend a few days at Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios during the day to take advantage of all the awesome rides and attractions such as The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. If you missed my post about Halloween Horror Nights which opens after the park closes, check it out here! Last fall was the first time we have visited where the brand new water park, Volcano Bay was open. Check out my full review here! I currently work as a manager of a travel office here in Florida, so not only do I sell Universal Studios packages, but I have personally been to the park more times than I can count! Follow along for all of my best tips and tricks!
Where to Stay
This was also the first time my husband and I decided to stay in a resort on the property for our trip. While there are many resorts on the property to include the Hard Rock, there are only two properties that offer unlimited express passes when you stay at the property. These two are the Loews Royal Pacific Resort and the Loews Portofino Bay Resort. We chose to stay at the Loews Royal Pacific Resort.
I never thought I would care so much about the express passes, but it truly made our experience at Universal so much better! I barely had to wait in a single line to include the Harry Potter rides which can have lines so long the wait times are over 2 hours. As for the resort itself, it was AMAZING! From the moment we walked in, I was in love with the Pacific Island theme!
The customer service was incredible, and we were even given leis when we checked in! I was completely blown away by this Resort. The rooms were great, the pool was awesome, and the best part was the water taxi that took us to and from the park. It was so convenient!!
Having stayed off the property the past three years, the convenience of staying on the property is more than worth it! While it may be cheaper to stay off the property, the express passes and convenience of staying in one of the property’s resorts made my experience at Universal a million times better! I was much more relaxed and had so much more fun!
Where to Eat
There are so many places to eat at Universal City Walk. However, if you can only choose one, you must visit The Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen. The outside of the restaurant is incredible.
It really does look like a little factory! The inside is just as incredible! You will be blown away by the incredible desserts and the costumes worn by all of the employees. The experience at this restaurant is so fun!
Not only that, but the food is incredible too! Even if you don’t have time to stay and eat a full meal, you can’t visit Universal without trying one of the desserts!
Things to Do
One of the most popular attractions at Universal Studios is Harry Potter World! If you’re a huge fan of the books and movies, this is something you can’t miss!
There is a reason people visit from all over the world to be immersed in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The amount of detail put into this attraction is incredible! The creators made sure everything looks just like it does in the movies. You can take a stroll through Diagon Alley, Gringott’s Bank, drink butterbeer, and take a ride on the Hogwarts Express.
The Hogwarts Express attraction is so amazing! It will take you from Universal Studios to Islands of Adventure. The window by each set of seats plays a different video depending on which park you are traveling to.
My husband loves the pumpkin juice too! Besides The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, you can find rides based on your favorite movies such as Jurassic Park and my personal favorite, The Mummy.
As an adult, Universal Studios is the place to go if your love intense rides and roller coasters. There are also plenty of kid-friendly things to do!
I would highly recommend putting Universal Studios on your bucket list! If you’re planning a trip soon, I hope this post has helped you with your planning!
