Hey, beauties! I don’t remember how I learned dry shampoo even existed, but I was clearly oblivious to this lifesaver! I have very thin and fine hair, so I can’t go more than two days without washing my hair. Every woman can understand the struggle of washing, drying, and styling your hair. Not only does it take a long time, but all the heat can cause serious damage to your strands. I was very fortunate that my first experience with dry shampoo happened to be the best brand on the market. What is this amazing product I speak of? Batiste Dry Shampoo. I first ordered it on Amazon after reading all of the rave reviews. This was before Batiste was available for purchase at local drugstores. After one use I was sold! I use it at night by separating my hair into sections and spraying at the roots. I then brush my hair so the dry shampoo blends into my hair. The best part is I wake up looking like I had just washed my hair. I can go at least 5 days without having to wash my hair.
As a busy law student, this has truly been a lifesaver. I have been able to spend more time studying than worrying about my hair. Plus, I get to sleep more which is great because anyone who has been through law school knows you have to sacrifice sleep most nights. I was so excited when Batiste became available at drugstores such as Walmart. Before that, I tried Dove’s dry shampoo and it just didn’t compare! Batiste offers a wide range of types. I initially started out using the original brand. However, they also make dry shampoo for blonde, brunette, etc.
I tend to purchase the blonde version more than the original and here is why. The original, when sprayed, comes out white. Despite brushing the product through my hair, the product doesn’t always distribute through my hair and my roots can look grey. That’s why I love the blonde version because it matches my hair and even gives me a nice touch up when I’m in between coloring appointments. The only negative I can say about it is that sometimes my scalp turns yellow. Luckily it’s not that noticeable! I recommended Batiste to my mom and she fell in love after one use too!
I was recently made aware of an awesome review of different dry shampoo products. Reviews.com put over 50 different brands to the test and narrowed them down to the top 5. They chose which products to test after scouring the internet for recommended brands, speaking with experienced stylists, and reading beauty blogs like my own. They tried expensive, inexpensive, and even DIY dry shampoo products until there was a clear winner. The dry shampoo winner was the one that not only smelled amazing but also was effective in soaking up oil and adding volume to limp hair. The goal was to find the one product that would give hair that just showered look and feel. Did Batiste make the list? You’re just going to have to find out by reading the article which can be found here!
