Hey, guys! I am back with part three of my guide to the best attractions in the Florida panhandle! If you missed any of my previous posts, click here to view Part 1 and here to view Part 2. Now that you are all caught up, I promised I would tell you where my favorite place to shop is in Destin. What is this amazing place I keep talking about? It’s the Destin Commons. So, what makes the Commons so great? Well, you can pretty much find anything you can imagine there from Bass Pro Shop, Coldstones, Chipotle, and an AMC movie theater.
Fun fact: I met my husband at the Johnny Rocket’s restaurant located in the Destin Commons. Not only will you find your typical stops like Starbucks, but the Commons also houses almost every shop you can think of. My sister and I could spend all day going in stores like H&M, Belk, and Lush.
If I haven’t made it clear yet, the Commons is not an indoor mall. It is a beautiful outdoor complex close to the water that serves as a nice getaway when you need a break from the beach. Just before I moved away from Destin, the Commons opened a bowling alley and restaurant. I had an opportunity to go to both the restaurant and bowling alley prior to moving, and it was fantastic. The food was great, and the facility was really clean. It is a great stop for families who need a break from the sun. My only complaint is that it was busy the day I went. However, the business had just recently opened so it may not be as busy anymore. Although I love the Destin Commons, the truth is, I don’t just have one favorite place to shop, I have two. That’s because just down the road from the Destin Commons is the Silver Sands Premium Outlets. I cannot rave about this outlet enough! If you love to shop, this is your place to go! I have bought one too many purses from both the Coach and Michael Kors outlet shop because there is always an awesome sale going on. Not only are most of the purses already on sale, but you are given an additional coupon when you walk through the door. The deals are just too good to pass up! I also love to shop at the New Balance store as well as the Banana Republic Factory. I always tend to find the best deals in the outlet factories. Yes, those snazzy shoes I was caught wearing on The Price is Right were purchased at the New Balance outlet store there in Destin 🙂
I must admit my favorite place is a chocolate shop that serves the best gelato! When you need a break from shopping, my favorite restaurant in Destin is called Pompano Joe’s. It is located about three miles from the Destin Commons. Pompano Joe’s is located directly on the water and has both indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant has a nice bar with a variety of drinks and the seafood is great! It is my go to place for Mahi Mahi. I hope Part 1-3 of my guide has encouraged you to visit the beautiful white sand beaches of Destin, Florida. Stay tuned for my next post where I’ll be discussing all of the great things to do in Pensacola!
